The GBJH Jazz Band is an extra-curricular group that meets once a week to rehearse. This group is open to all GRADE 8 and 9 students who are enrolled in the GBJH Band Program during the 2023-2024 school year. The group will be offered to grade 7's as their skills allow them to keep up with the challenging music.

The purpose of this group is to give students more experience playing music in a group setting, to challenge students who are looking for something more, to expose students to different genres and forms of music and to have fun! 

All students who participate in the GBJH Jazz Band will be asked to fill out a jazz interest/commitment form, and are expected to be at all rehearsals (conflicts can be brought to Ms. Penwell if they arise.) The group will be dependent upon all students involved being committed to the group, so attendance is expected each week. 

The GBJH Jazz Band is a fun opportunity for students to get involved in music beyond the classroom and to learn about teamwork and group commitment!

The first rehearsal of the year will be on Tuesday, September 19th 

ALL STUDENTS WILL BE ASKED TO COMPLETE THE JAZZ FORM AND RETURN TO MS. PENWELL BY FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 15th
